The Fluvanna Republican Committee announces Town Hall Breakfast with Virgil Goode at the Lake Monticello Clubhouse on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 8:30 AM. Congressman Goode represented Fluvanna County as part of the 5th Congressional District for twelve years through 2008, always with a commitment to conservative ideals and causes as well as to the needs of the 5th District. Chairman Doug Johnson said "The recent change in representation of the Fifth Congressional District has been a wake up call for Fluvanna County." He continued: "Congressman Goode was one of the most conservative members of Congress, voting against wasteful spending and the now infamous bailout bills of 2008, while our new representative is virtually the most liberal, voting for massive spending bills, including the $820 Billion stimulus measure, which is part of the largest deficit in the history of the United States." Congressman Goode will be commenting on the policy of borrow and spend and the current national deficit and debt. Please RSVP either by phone (286-6982) or on the internet at www.FluvannaRepublic an.org as soon as possible. Cost of breakfast is $15.00 "Dutch Treat". Non-Lake residents will be admitted through the gate by saying they are attending the Virgil Goode event at the Clubhouse.
